About our Pre-School

ABOUT OUR PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAM

            School time is theme-centered: such as ocean life, the arctic, jungle animals, the rain forest, dinosaurs, nutrition, dental health, weather, holidays, how plants grow, and more.  All children are together, and activities are adjusted by age for each child as needed. 

 

Ages 18 months to 3 years:

I help your child learn to sit during story time, recognize shapes, colors, and count objects up to ten.  Fine motor skills are developed through working puzzles, coloring, scissors, art projects, and educational toys.  Large motor skills are developed through music movement, playing with balls and bean bags, organized floor games, and large play equipment.  This is a fun time each morning for up to two hours that is filled with activities and plenty of freedom to move about.

Ages 3-5 yrs:

        This is a time of preparation for kindergarten.  Children listen to stories and are actively involved in discussions and role- playing. Fun art projects compliment our unit of study.  Children learn to write their name, recognize and write alphabet letters, count objects to twenty, and recognize and write numerals.  Workbooks are provided which emphasize pre-reading skills, and math skills. 

Music lessons    

            Weekly music lessons are offered* by a professional group called “Musical Kids”.  Lessons are available from September through May with a recital in May.  Children love this program.  The cost is $27.00 per month and is available for ages 18 months -5 years.

 

*This program can only be offered if we have at least 3 pre-schoolers participating in music class.
